The AAM Online Education Program provides Students and Educators with a series of online lessons, which are...
- Proven Effective: Hundreds of students and educators have
successfully used our lessons.
- Linked to Quality Content: Funded through a grant from the Library
of Congress, our mandate is to link students and educators to
the millions of primary sources on the Library
of Congress website.
- Activity-Driven: Our lessons provide students with the opportunity
to perform "guided research." By completing the tasks of each lesson,
students learn how to research primary sources on their own, thereby
gaining confidence and independence, while sharpening their critical
and analytical thinking skills.
- Free of Charge: Students and educators can use our lessons
without ever paying a single fee.
Getting Started
We invite you to familiarize yourself with all our program has to offer. However, if you'd like to get started on a lesson as quickly
as possible, just complete the following steps:
- Requirements: Visit our Requirements Page to confirm you have all the tools you'll need.
- Step-By-Step Setup: Download a
step-by-step guide, demonstrating how to use our resources.
- Popup Blockers: Lessons and lesson resources open in popup windows. Please be sure you turn off your popup blockers BEFORE you attempt to register or open lessons. Click here if you're not sure how to do this.
- Registration: Register
and log in, so you can take pre-tests, post-tests and track your
students' overall lesson progress. Note that registration is not
required, though without it, you won't be able to track student progress.
- Select a Lesson: Visit our Lessons
Page to browse our current collection of lessons. Check back
regularly, as new lessons are added frequently.
